The R-D Split of the Seven Deadly Sins

It’s September and, with Election Day only two months hence, it’s the height of the political season. I try to eschew partisan politics on this blogsite, but I’d like to share one thought and, as it turns out, it doesn’t exactly champion one party or the other.

So here’s the thought: Our two major political parties have divided the Seven Deadly Sins quite precisely between them. That is, it is Democrats who embrace or at least condone lust and sloth, besides being rather forthright in putting envy into their platform; Republicans, on the other hand, are more easily identified with anger and gluttony, as well as of course avarice.

That leaves spiritual pride, or vanity, for the two parties to divide equally, as they indeed do.
